I’d like to formally introduce myself as the newest face in the diocesan office! Some of you have probably seen me galavanting around throughout the diocese and diocesan events cheering loudly and proclaiming the good news of Camp Chickagami; for those of you who don’t know me, allow me to share a bit.
I grew up in Port Huron and have been a life-long member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. I have had wonderful opportunities to be involved in camp ministries as well as other various programs throughout the province and diocese. I also have a lovely little puppy, enjoy kayaking, fresh vegetables and working with youth and young adults. For me, church really happens when we are with the youth; learning, praying and worshiping with them – really listening to what they have to say.
You may find yourself asking the question, “What exactly is she going to be doing for the diocese?” I’m glad you asked! As this position is new to the diocese – here is some of what I will be up to:
Facilitating existing networks of youth/young adult ministries
Encouraging the development of new networks throughout the diocese
Acting as coordinator/liaison with programs, events and conferences with youth and young adults, including Camp Chickagami
Coordinating and managing both facility and program of Camp Chickagami
I plan to make my rounds throughout the diocese to network and connect with as many people as I can as soon as I can. If you have an event, gathering or meeting of any kind that you would like to invite me to, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Especially with camp season right around the corner, I would love to come and talk with you about the ways you can get involved, how to use the facility for your own church retreat and the great expanded youth and family programming we have to offer you!
I am elated and humbled that I have been called to this remarkable opportunity and am more than ready to be God’s hands and feet working full time in what I never imagined could really be my career outside of my dreams!
